The New Mexico RTPOs have collectively expressed their advocacy for GIS technical assistance to develop and maintain a resource that supplements their current planning practices by storing and communicating project data in a relative and visual format. Although GIS is not a new technology, it is very new to NM RTPOs in general.

 

This RTPO GIS program, was created to assist New Mexico RTPO's in addressing the competitive and performance based criteria set forth by MAP-21 and in support of carrying out applicable functions and tasks of regional work programs in accordance with respective timelines.
